Orano Canada is a leading producer of uranium in Canada, working to power the future with clean energy! Our McClean Lake mill is the most technologically advanced mill in the world for the processing of high-grade uranium ore without dilution. As a Maintenance Summer Student, you will gain hands-on experience assisting with a variety of tasks related to mill maintenance. If you are interested in this position, we encourage you to apply! 


Responsibilities include: 

·         Assist with routine inspections, lubrication, and servicing of mill machinery and equipment 

·         Perform basic cleaning and upkeep of work areas to ensure a safe and organized environment 

·         Follow all safety protocols and wear required personal protective equipment (PPE) 

·         Help document maintenance activities and report any issues to supervisors 

·         Paint pipes throughout the Mill 

·         Must follow directions and complete assigned tasks in a safe and efficient manner 

·         Follow all site procedures, work instructions and environmental policies 

·         Maintain acceptable attendance and compliance in established schedules 

·         Comply with all Orano health, safety and environmental policies, practices and procedures 

·         Promote and adhere to Orano Canada’s values: Customer Satisfaction, Continuous Improvement, Respect and People Development, Cohesion and Team Spirit, and Exemplarity, Integrity, Responsibility 


Skills and Qualifications for the position include:

  • Must be a resident of Saskatchewan’s north (RSN). Priority will be given to residents of the Athabasca Basin
  • Grade 12 Diploma or equivalent and be at least 18 years of age
  • Must be dependable and able to work independently
  • Good written and oral communication skills and ability to work in a team environment
  • Demonstrate good computer skills and past experience with Microsoft Office is an asset

Work Location & Schedule: 

·         McClean Lake site 

·         14 days in and 14 days out rotating schedule 

·         Normally an 11 hour work day, although some activity outside or normal working hours may be required 


Fly Day- This position will fly in and fly out on Friday Pick-Up Points: Saskatoon, Prince Albert, La Ronge, Buffalo Narrows and the designated communities in the Athabasca region of Uranium City, Stony Rapids, Fond du Lac, and Wollaston.


As a condition of employment the successful candidate must complete Orano’s pre-employment checks including education verification and employment reference checks. 

 

Drug (including marijuana) and alcohol substance testing is a requirement for all Safety Sensitive positions. Applicants who have recently used marijuana recreationally may not pass a substance test as marijuana can remain in the user’s system for as many as 30 days after use.
