Join the Orano team to help meet current and future challenges to build the clean energy world of tomorrow. By joining the Orano Group, you will be a part of a leading international player in the nuclear industry.

Orano TN, a subsidiary of Orano USA, is a leader in the American market for used nuclear fuel storage, radioactive waste management and fuel transportation logistics.  The company offers a complete line of products and related services to the transportation, storage, and engineering sectors operating in the fuel cycle materials market.

Orano TN is seeking a Mechanical/Structural Engineer to support the engineering and design work performed to support the design and development of various spent nuclear fuel storage and transport packages. This qualified individual will be responsible for conducting mechanical/structural static and dynamic analyses using either commercial software tools such as ANSYS and LS-DYNA or by hand calculations using classical methods. Solid understanding of linear, non-linear, and dynamic structural analyses is required. Experience with ASME BPVC Section III (or VIII) Design by Stress Analysis is required.

Additional Job Responsibilities Include:

  • Perform calculations in support of design, development and licensing in the structural discipline.
  • Interface with designers, project engineers and other analytical disciplines (thermal, nuclear, etc.) to ensure the structural integrity of the design.
  • Conduct finite element analyses on structures, systems and components using either commercial software tools such as ANSYS and LS-DYNA and/or by hand calculations using classical methods. The types of analyses required are linear and non-linear structural analysis, rigid body dynamics, modes and frequencies.
  • Provide design solutions and verification methods.
  • Participate in team meetings, technical reviews, design reviews, peer reviews and problem-solving meetings.
  • Document structural analysis calculations and prepare related sections of the Safety Analysis Report (SAR) and/or Technical Reports as part of TN AMERICAS LLC’s licensing submittals to the NRC.

Orano strives to provide a total compensation package that brings value to our employees. While the pay range lists the base salary, we also offer highly competitive health and wellness programs, 401(k) contributions, and industry leading paid time off.

Please Note: The provided pay information is a guideline. Your offered salary is based upon experience, qualifications, geographic location, as well as market and business considerations.

Pay Range: $95,000-$120,000 per year
