Join Orano's Nuclear Energy Team

About Orano

Join our team to help meet current and future challenges to build the clean energy world of tomorrow. By joining the Orano Group, you will be a part of a

leading international player in the nuclear industry. Our strengths? Across the entire fuel cycle, we have extensive expertise in cutting-edge technologies, safe, high value-added products and services, and a strong capacity for innovation.

Overview

This isn't just another Mechanical Engineer role. You'll contribute to one of the most technically demanding and consequential infrastructure projects in the United States, applying mechanical engineering fundamentals to the design, analysis, and support of critical systems for a multi-billion-dollar facility that will power America's energy independence. Reporting directly to the Mechanical Engineering Lead, you will work on nuclear-grade systems with exposure to a full range of disciplines — from detailed design through field commissioning.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Execute mechanical engineering assignments related to system design, thermal/fluid analysis, equipment specification, and field support
  • Apply standard engineering techniques and procedures to solve technical problems, with guidance available on more complex issues
  • Support the development of mechanical design packages, including drawings, calculations, and specifications
  • Ensure compliance with applicable nuclear, organizational, and customer engineering standards and procedures
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams including civil, electrical, HVAC, and I&C engineers to ensure integrated system performance
  • Participate in design reviews and provide feedback to improve quality and constructability
  • Contribute to technical documentation and reporting for internal and external stakeholders

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field
  • 0-4 years of relevant mechanical engineering experience; an advanced degree (MS or MBA) may substitute for 1–2 years, and a PhD for 2–3 years
  • PE license may be accepted in lieu of a four-year engineering degree in applicable states
  • Must be eligible to obtain a security clearance
  • Experience supporting nuclear or DOE projects preferred
  • Familiarity with ASME codes, ANSI standards, and nuclear QA requirements preferred
  • Proficiency in CAD tools such as SolidWorks or AutoCAD, and engineering analysis software preferred
  • Solid understanding of mechanical engineering principles, strong analytical and problem-solving skills, and effective written and verbal communication
  • Ability to work collaboratively across disciplines and willingness to learn and adapt to new tools, technologies, and processes

The salary range for this role is $80-$110k. Compensation is based on your experience and the cost of living in your geographical area.

In compliance with federal law, all persons hired will be required to verify identity and eligibility to work in the United States and to complete the required employment eligibility verification form upon hire.

This position requires a pre-employment background check and drug screening.
