Journeyperson Automotive Mechanic (Temp)

(McClean Lake)

 

Reporting to the Services Supervisor, this position is responsible for the following duties: 

 

Responsibilities include:  

  • Maintain light and medium duty mobile equipment. Examples include quads, pickup trucks, semi tractors, trailer units, Man lifts, skid steers and buses
  • Using diagnostic equipment that includes but is not limited to computerized software. Examples include Ford IDS, Cat ET, Cummins INSITE and Wabco tool box
  • Troubleshoot and repair electrical, mechanical, pneumatic and hydraulic systems
  • Perform duties with little or no supervision in an efficient manner
  • Obtain necessary parts to complete work
  • Embrace and support Operational Excellence efforts and OE Culture
  • Comply with all Orano health, safety and environmental policies, practices and procedures
  • Promote and adhere to Orano Canada’s values: Customer Satisfaction, Continuous Improvement, Respect and People Development, Cohesion and Team Spirit, and Exemplarity, Integrity, Responsibility

 

Efforts and Demand:

  • Work in a shop environment
  • Work with minimum supervision
  • Must have full line of good quality personal hand tools

 

Skills and Qualifications for the position include:

  • Valid Saskatchewan Journeyperson ticket
  • 5+ years of experience working on a broad range of light and medium duty mobile equipment
  • Demonstrated computer skills.  Experience with SAP is an asset
  • Experience with Ford pickup trucks and diagnostic software is an asset
  • Experience with heavy duty equipment maintenance is an asset
  • Good troubleshooting and analytical skills
  • Attention to detail when servicing equipment
  • Willingness to work with minimum supervision
  • Safety conscious, self-motivated, proficient communication skills, long-term career goals, exceptional work ethic
  • Priority will be given to qualified Residents of Saskatchewan’s North (RSN)

 

Work Location & Schedule: 

  • McClean Lake site 
  • 14 days in and 14 days out rotating schedule
  • Normally an 11 hour work day, although some activity outside or normal working hours may be required
  • This position requires moderate physical ability

Pick-Up Points: Saskatoon, Prince Albert, La Ronge, Buffalo Narrows and the designated communities in the Athabasca region of  Uranium City, Stony Rapids, Fond du Lac, and Wollaston.

 

As a condition of employment the successful candidate must complete Orano’s pre-employment checks including education verification and employment reference checks. 

 

Drug (including marijuana) and alcohol substance testing is a requirement for all Safety Sensitive positions. Applicants who have recently used marijuana recreationally may not pass a substance test as marijuana can remain in the user’s system for as many as 30 days after use.
