Crane and General Maintenance Operator

(McClean Lake)

In this role, you’ll take the lead in safely operating a wide range of equipment from hydraulic cranes to dozers, loaders, and vacuum trucks, keeping the site running smoothly and efficiently. Each day will bring a variety or work, whether you’re supporting essential earth-moving projects, lending a hand with maintenance tasks, or collaborating with skilled trades. Responsibilities include:  

  • Responsible for the safe and proficient operation of equipment associated with maintaining site services and miscellaneous earth-moving projects
  • Operation of rough terrain hydraulic cranes
  • Operation of various heavy-duty equipment for earth-moving projects including haul truck, loader, excavator, scalper screener, and dozer
  • Operation of various light and medium duty equipment in the performance of general site services duties including gravel truck, vacuum truck, water truck, backhoe, bobcat, semi-tractor, forklift, grader, and bus
  • Performing manual labour to support operations and maintenance activities, such as clean-up, hauling and stacking materials, and assisting skilled or semi-skilled crafts in the performance of their tasks
  • Other duties and assignments as required by the Department and assigned by the Services Supervisor

 

Efforts and Demand:

  • Must be able to work alone or with minimal supervision
  • Must be able to perform all labour requirements associated with general site maintenance and construction activities
  • Commitment to work safely and follow all safety policies and procedures
  • Follow work schedules and daily job assignments in an effective manner
  • Follow verbal and written procedures with accuracy and attention to detail

 

Skills and Qualifications for the position include:

  • Must have Journeyperson/Proficiency Certification in hydraulic crane operation
  • Must have at least 5 years of experience in heavy equipment operation that closely aligns with the equipment listed
  • Valid class 1A license preferred
  • Industrial facility maintenance experience is an asset
  • Preference will be given to qualified Residents of Saskatchewan’s North (RSN) 

 

Work Location & Schedule:  

  • McClean Lake 
  • 14 days in and 14 days out rotating schedule 
  • Normally an 11 hour work day, although some activity outside or normal working hours may be required

$67.29

As a condition of employment the successful candidate must complete Orano’s pre-employment checks including education verification and employment reference checks. 

 

Drug (including marijuana) and alcohol substance testing is a requirement for all Safety Sensitive positions. Applicants who have recently used marijuana recreationally may not pass a substance test as marijuana can remain in the user’s system for as many as 30 days after use.
