Overview

Step into a career-defining opportunity with Orano USA, a global leader in nuclear innovation, as we launch Project IKE—a cutting-edge uranium enrichment facility in Oak Ridge, Tennessee. As Communication Specialist I-II, you’ll be at the forefront of building one of the most advanced clean energy infrastructures in the country.

This isn’t just another Communication role. You’ll be will directly support Orano’s Project IKE development of a uranium enrichment facility in Oak Ridge and will also serve as the company’s community liaison. Your responsibilities will include supporting the development and implementation of communication strategies through writing, editing, community engagement, and media relations for a multi-billion-dollar facility that will power America’s energy independence.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support Orano’s Project IKE development through communications and community engagement, with local high schools, colleges, and universities and regional municipalities, Industrial
  • Development Boards, and business organizations
  • Attend public meetings relevant to Project IKE
  • Write and edit external communication materials, including press releases, articles, social media posts, presentations, talking points, and website content
  • Serve as a point of contact for community stakeholders
  • Support and attend regional events involving Orano’s Project IKE or corporate teams
  • Monitor and help manage the organization’s public image
  • Assist with media relations, including outreach and responding to media inquiries
  • Ensure adherence to Orano’s branding, messaging, image, and graphics requirements
  • Create and update internal communications content
  • Assess, compile and format actionable metrics
  • Perform special projects as assigned



This position requires access to classified national security information.  In accordance with U.S. government regulations governing such access, only U.S. citizens (natural born or naturalized) are eligible for a security clearance.  Applicants must possess or be able to obtain and maintain a clearance to access classified national security information.

Requirements

All candidates must meet the following minimum requirements to be considered for this opportunity. Candidates who exceed minimum qualifications may be considered for a higher-level position.

  • Bachelor’s degree in business, Marketing, Communications, or a related field, and 2-4 years of related experience
  • Excellent writing and editing skills, including persuasive, descriptive, creative, social, website, and technical messaging
  • Displays business acumen, poise, engagement skills, and customer service
  • Good networking, listening, questioning, and analytical skills
  • Proficient with business software, including word processing, presentations, and spreadsheets
  • Familiar with using artificial intelligence (AI) for communications tasks
  • Exhibits proactive self-sufficiency and a wide degree of creativity
  • Ability to work both independently and effectively in a team environment
  • Ability to prioritize work assignments and shift work efforts in dynamic situations
  • Ability to work in a global organization across a variety of international cultures
