Orano Canada’s Vice President, Finance is a key member of the executive management team, responsible for leading all finance activities for the company, including partner relations. This portfolio also encompasses oversight of the Information Systems and Technology function, as well as the coordination of uranium sales transport. What you’ll accomplish:

  • Strategic business partner to the CEO and the senior management team
  • Advises on long-term business and financial planning and participates in pivotal decisions relating to business strategy, evolving commitments, contracts and operations
  • Provide leadership and direction to the finance, accounting and IT teams embodying the Orano Leadership Model
  • Ensure the cross function links between the finance team and other directions of the company
  • Coordinate, build and support strong relationships with financial and IT counterparts in the Orano Group’s Mining Business Unit in order to translate corporate requirements to local initiatives
  • Assess and evaluate financial performance with regard to operational goals, budgets and forecasts and provide recommendations for both short-term and long-term company plans 
  • Direct and manage the processes for the preparation of operating sites and consolidated company-wide financial plans, budgets and forecasts
  • Supervise and provide direction for the preparation of monthly and annual financial reports and statements and execute and communicate analysis for internal and external customers
  • Manage the cash flow planning process and ensure fund availability and financing structure adequacy
  • Supervise Tax processes and in particular income tax, royalties and other tax filings and audits, with a strong involvement in the Transfer Price case resolution
  • Will be a key player in case of implementation of a new information system
  • Ensure compliance with accounting and internal control standards
  • Oversee the efficient operation, reliability and upgrading of management information systems
  • Oversee the coordination of uranium concentrate sales planning and shipments from Canadian production sites to the refineries to meet sales obligations as set out by Orano Mines
  • Oversee the management of Orano’s insurance programs
  • Lead by example and hold teams accountable for compliance with related laws and regulations, taxation, royalty, corporate standards and procedures, 
  • Innovative, efficient and positive team dynamic
  • Promote and support Operational Excellence and OE Culture by encouraging ongoing efficiencies and collaboration for the improvement of procedures, processes, internal controls and systems
  • Comply with all Orano health, safety and environmental policies, practices and procedures
  • Promote and adhere to Orano’s Ethics Charter and Orano’s Values: Safety and Security, Team Spirit and Cohesion, Continuous Improvement, Customer Satisfaction, Ethics, Transparency and Dialogue, Respect and People Development

 

Qualifications and skills we’re seeking:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or Finance, or related field; an MBA is an asset
  • CPA designation is required
  • Extensive experience as a senior manager and/or executive in Finance or Accounting
  • Proven ability to turn strategy and analytics into business deliverables and actions
  • Extensive knowledge and experience in the use of descriptive, prescriptive and predictive analytics
  • Knowledge of French and international experience is an asset
  • Exceptional analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills
  • Professional experience in Mining or Industry is an asset
  • Team leader who builds trust and accountability within their team and supports, encourages and motivates their team to succeed
  • Problem solving mind-set and an effective decision maker
  • Ability to positively influence, lead change, encourage innovation and excellence initiatives
  • Excellent interpersonal communication skills, both written and verbal, and has the ability to translate financial information and strategy to wide ranging audiences
  • Ability to build and cultivate working relationships with executive peers, coworkers, other departments, partners and consultants in a diverse, multi-cultural organization
  • Honest, ethical, and able to practice discretion in handling confidential information

 

Work Location & Travel:

  • Saskatoon Corporate Office
  • Position requires occasional travel to France and McClean Lake Operations
