Journeyperson Pipefitter (Temporary)

As a key player of the Mill Maintenance team, you will work as part of a team to ensure the safe and efficient operation of our mill. You’ll work alongside skilled professionals to maintain and optimize critical propane systems and piping infrastructure. If you are ready for a challenge, we invite you to apply!

 

Responsibilities include:  

  • Maintain the mill piping and propane systems, and modify or construct piping as required
  • Daily Propane inspections and troubleshooting
  • Follow piping diagrams and P&ID’s
  • Maintain a safe and organized working environment
  • Follow company procedures and comply with the practices of our work order management system
  • Embrace and support Operational Excellence efforts and OE Culture
  • Comply with all Orano health, safety and environmental policies, practices and procedures
  • Promote and adhere to Orano Canada’s values: Customer Satisfaction, Continuous Improvement, Respect and People Development, Cohesion and Team Spirit, and Exemplarity, Integrity, Responsibility

 

Skills and Qualifications for the position include:

  • Interprovincial Journeyperson pipefitter or plumber’s ticket is required
  • Saskatchewan General Gas Fitters ticket is required
  • HVAC troubleshooting experience required
  • Ability to follow HVAC Electrical Schematic Drawings is an asset
  • Ability to follow piping diagrams is required
  • Experience with industrial piping materials such as HDPE, CPVC, FRP, SS and Victaulic is an asset
  • Industrial maintenance experience is an asset
  • Ability to work with minimum supervision at times
  • Ability to work as part of a diverse maintenance team
  • Willing to assist other trades in the completion of their duties
  • Physically capable of working 11 hour a day in many different work environments and conditions
  • Preference will be given to qualified Residents of Saskatchewan’s North (RSN) 

 

Work Location & Schedule:  

  • McClean Lake
  • 14 day in/ 14 day out rotating schedule
  • Normally an 11 hour work day, although some activity outside of normal working hours may be required
  • This position requires moderate physical ability

Pick-Up Points: Saskatoon, Prince Albert, La Ronge, Buffalo Narrows and the designated communities in the Athabasca region of Uranium City, Stony Rapids, Fond du Lac, and Wollaston.

 

As a condition of employment the successful candidate must complete Orano’s pre-employment checks including education verification and employment reference checks. 

 

Drug (including marijuana) and alcohol substance testing is a requirement for all Safety Sensitive positions. Applicants who have recently used marijuana recreationally may not pass a substance test as marijuana can remain in the user’s system for as many as 30 days after use.
