About Orano

Join our team to help meet current and future challenges to build the clean energy world of tomorrow. By joining the Orano Group, you will be a part of a leading international player in the nuclear industry. Our strengths? Across the entire fuel cycle, we have extensive expertise in cutting-edge technologies, safe, high value-added products and services, and a strong capacity for innovation.

Overview

Step into a career-defining opportunity with Orano USA, a global leader in nuclear innovation, as we launch Project IKE—a cutting-edge uranium enrichment facility in Oak Ridge, Tennessee. As Configuration Management (CM) Engineer, you’ll be at the forefront of building one of the most advanced clean energy infrastructures in the country.

This isn't just another Configuration Management (CM) Engineer role. You'll be a critical pillar of the Systems Engineering Group on one of the largest and most complex infrastructure projects in the United States, responsible for establishing, implementing, and maintaining robust configuration management processes that ensure technical consistency, design traceability, and controlled evolution of system baselines — across every phase of a multi-billion-dollar facility that will power America's energy independence.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop, implement, and maintain the project's Configuration Management Plan and associated procedures
  • Establish and manage the Configuration Management database (CMDB) or equivalent tool for tracking baselines, revisions, and change status
  • Define and maintain system and subsystem baselines, including functional, allocated, and as-built configuration
  • Administer the Engineering Change Control process with the EPC contractor, ensuring timely review, approval, and documentation of all design and configuration changes, including alignment of configuration information between the Owner and EPC
  •  Work closely with Systems Engineering, Design Engineering, Procurement, Construction, and Operations to ensure technical alignment and configuration traceability across all disciplines
  •  Support interface management and ensure consistent application of CM processes across all interfacing systems and organizations
  •  Ensure all configuration documentation — drawings, specifications, BOMs, and design inputs/outputs — is properly controlled and versioned
  •  Provide CM metrics, reports, and dashboards to project leadership, and participate in audits and verifications to confirm configuration status and compliance
  •  Support system verification, validation, and commissioning readiness by ensuring complete and accurate configuration records
Requirements
All candidates must meet the following minimum requirements to be considered for this opportunity. Candidates who exceed minimum qualifications may be considered for a higher-level position.
  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering, Systems Engineering, or a related technical field
  • 5+ years of experience in configuration management on large, complex engineering or infrastructure projects
  • Demonstrated experience with configuration control tools such as Windchill, Teamcenter, DOORS, SmartPlant, or equivalent
  • Strong understanding of systems engineering processes, lifecycle management, and technical baselining
  • Excellent organizational and communication skills with strong attention to detail
  • Ability to work across multidisciplinary teams and maintain technical rigor in a fast-paced project environment
  • Experience in the nuclear, aerospace, or defense industries preferred
  • Familiarity with INCOSE configuration management principles and ANSI/EIA-649 standards preferred
  • Experience interfacing with design, construction, and commissioning organizations on EPC-style projects preferred
  • Working knowledge of document and data management systems (EDMS) preferred
